What Are My Options for My Teeth?

I have a smile that makes me uncomfortable to smile. My teeth are really stained and discolored and my front teeth are crooked. Can you give me my options for improving it?

Our smile is one of the first things people notice about us, so I completely understand why you want to make yours as beautiful as possible. You have a couple of options. Which you choose will depend on your goals and budget. If you want a complete smile makeover, like the Hollywood celebrities get, then I would recommend porcelain veneers. These can change the shape, size, and color of your teeth.
That means, with a skilled cosmetic dentist, they can whiten your teeth as well as make the front teeth look straight. They can even change the character of your teeth. For instance, lengthening the front teeth a little makes you look more youthful. Just tell a the cosmetic dentist what you are looking for in your smile and they can create it. The only downside to these is that they can be pretty pricey.
If that is more than you are looking for then I recommend that you get a combination of Invisalign and teeth whitening. The Invisalign can straighten your teeth without anyone ever knowing. Instead of metal wires and brackets that traditional braces use, Invisalign uses aligners that are completely clear. Even at a conversational distance, no one can tell that you are wearing anything to straighten your teeth. To add to the benefits, the Invisalign aligners can also double as teeth whitening trays. This will allow you to straighten and whiten your teeth at the same time.
This second option is also a lot less expensive than the veneers option. Unless you want a complete smile makeover, this is would be a much more practical option for you.
