Will Invisalign Stain My Teeth?

Posted by writeradmin

My bestie has Invisalign and loves it. I’ve always wanted to straighten my teeth but didn’t want braces. My only concern is that they will stain my teeth because you wear them almost constantly. Is this an issue with Invisalign?

Dear Callie Anne,

Invisalign aligners

I am glad you are looking into Invisalign as your method of straightening your teeth. It has one of the highest patient satisfaction rates in cosmetic care. While Invisalign is worn for most of the 24 hour period. They are removed for you to have your meals. As long as you brush your teeth after each meal, then you will not have to worry about any food or drink sticking to your teeth and staining them. It is recommended that you drink water while the Invisalign aligners are in, but you can then drink any thing you want while they are removed for meals. Most people find it helps them develop a great water drinking habit.

If you don’t brush after your meals then, these things will stay stuck against your teeth which will lead to decalcification. These are precursors to decay, so it will be important to take your oral hygiene seriously. Some great news is how easy it is to brush and floss with Invisalign. You simply remove the aligners, take care of your teeth, and then place them back on. With traditional braces, you have to try to work around all those metal wires and brackets.

If white teeth are important to you, then I have even MORE good news for you. The aligners that you’ll use to straighten your teeth, can double as teeth whitening trays. This means you can straighten and whiten your teeth simultaneously for a fraction of the cost it would set you back if you did them separately.
